Hello there,

Andrew Here,

I hope you are having a really good day, and I hope there’s still time to make it EVEN BETTER.

You see this blog is all about increasing the quality of your life through body and lifestyle transformation.  The strategies and actions we learn, and suggest have to do with eating better, moving better, and this post is about thinking better.

I feel that the BIGGEST FACTOR in whether or not you reach your health and fitness goals is your mindset.

Yep.  If your mindset isn’t right you will struggle with moving forward and achieving what you really want.

Einstein sums it up best when he said it like this; “The level of thinking that’s gotten us to where we are today will not be enough to get us where we want to go.”

One powerful way to think in new directions is a paradigm (pair.a.dime) shift, also known as a major shift in perspective.

If you can apply a powerful paradigm shift in an important area of yo

ur life that hasn’t been working how you want it, you will watch yourself make effortless decisions you know you should be making and take actions that move you right towards the life you want.

The PARADIGM SHIFT is a SIMPLE, EFFECTIVE technique for improving the quality of your life instantly and permanently (as long as you integrate the new paradigm and don’t slip back into your old ways of thinking)

Your paradigm is the perspective in which you view the world.  A definition from dictionary.com reads – A set of assumptions, concepts, values, and practices that constitutes a way of viewing reality for the community that shares them

Check out these stories about how a paradigm shift has instantly improved the quality of other people’s lives (myself included) and try to find something that speaks to you so you can create your paradigm shift and do the same.

I used to have a SWEET TOOTH.

I’m talking about buying a bunch of candy bars and eating them right away.  I’m talking about punishing A LOT cookies every chance I could get.

The problem with consuming massive amounts of sweets was that it triggered my eczema.  I would get an itchy red rash on my face, arms, and legs.  Scratching it would break skin and make it worse.

this isn't me, it's a poor girl with eczema. Do you think she should eat sweets?
this isn’t me, it’s a poor girl with eczema. Do you think she should eat junk food?

I really struggled until I had my first profound paradigm shift regarding my health.  One day I realized that these crappy foods I “loved” were the direct cause of my terribly uncomfortable and embarrassing skin allergies.  From that point on I haven’t struggled with my sweet tooth, sure I slip often but I don’t get carried away because I view my food choices with a totally different paradigm.  Instead of thinking about sweets as a delicious food, I see harmful chemicals that cause me to break out in a rash.  The second perspective ?

The paradigm shift is the key to making tough decisions effortless and consistent, thus you pretty much instantly change your destiny.  Cool, hu?

Let me tell you about the excellent success my client Donna has achieved with her paradigm shift.

She struggled with living a healthy lifestyle and therefore struggled with her body and weight because of a crazy life.  How much work is it to work, take care of a family, exercise and cook healthy meals?  A LOT.

So she had a hard time getting motivated.  That was until she realized it wasn’t about her, she needed to do this for her children.  Because they deserved a better example, and if she didn’t do this she would be putting her children’s lives in jeopardy.  I know that sounds dramatic but just stop for a second to think about how drastically different a child’s social life and self esteem would be if they had to leave all their friends in freshman football to play J.V. football.  No friends and no playing time, or lots of friends and lots of playing time?  What do you think your child would want?

So she helped her son lose weight, she is losing weight and looking better everyday, exercising and healthy cooking are an enjoyable (time consuming, yes, but it’s totally worth the investment right?) part of her life.

Paradigm shift home run!

How about the one where the guy learns to eat healthy and exercise like an animal for his kids because he doesn’t want to abandon them like his dad did.  He died (kids ages 6, 10, 14) when he was 45 years old from a heart attack.

So check your paradigm.  When you keep making decisions and taking actions that aren’t helping your cause ask yourself what perspective you’re bringing to the table and see if you can try a new one on.  Read some books, get a coach and try to adopt a new empowering paradigm to take your life to the next level.

Thanks for reading, and be sure to drop a comment below to share your paradigm shift with others who might need some good ideas.

Fight for your health,

Andrew

One Response to “A Higher Quality Of Life With A Quick Change In Perspective”

Understanding the need for a shift is one thing. Taking the step is another. It’s a daily struggle to stay on the right path. Even knowing that I feel better, as in think clearer and more positively, when I eat right isn’t always enough to keep me on that right path.
So I appreciate the reminder that it’s the right thing to do and that I can do it.
    Thanks Andrew!
