The three part foundation for true health and wellness.
All three pieces must be in place for a period of time to be truly healthy and well.

Innate Food

Humans are designed to eat nutrient-dense whole foods and nothing else. When we eat congruently with our innate intelligence we realize our ideal bodies and thrive.

Innate Movement

Humans are born to be strong, capable, and unimpeded by limitation. Proper movement is essential to function normally. When we move congruently with our innate intelligence we maintain our ideal bodies and thrive.

Innate Thought

Humans have the ability to control their thoughts. By entertaining and nurturing only thoughts supportive to our success, we are guaranteed to thrive.

Getting pumped up to help people!

Andrew:

My story it’s starts at age 3, I had all kinds of allergies, asthma, and a really bad skin reaction (eczema).  My allergies left me annoyed and sniffling, my asthma would limit me from doing what I loved (sports or just playing around with the other kids), and my skin would embarrass me and drive me crazy as I scratched it clean off and was left with ugly red scabs.  These things really bothered me, and I didn’t understand why I had to deal with them while my friends didn’t.  I knew from a young age that I wanted answers.  Not answers like take your asthma medication, allergy medication, and apply this cream even though you don’t like the side effects, but REAL ANSWERS that would solve my problems for good.

I didn’t let these afflictions stop me as I pursued my love of all things athletic, and with the help of my older brother (he’s the reason I am where I am today, love you bro!) I learned how to life weights when I was 14.  I never wanted to be a huge hulking beast, but I did want to look good and feel strong, and lifting weights with good form got me started.

Me and my brother Dr. Nick planning global health domination.

I lifted weights on and off for a number of years, never super serious but enjoying the progress of building strength and connecting to my body.  However, my body began to break down my senior year of high school.  I lost strength in the right side of my body.  My knees started hurting and no doctor could tell me why, so I limited myself according to their recommendations.  I began my College career at UCSB in pain and unsatisfied with my fitness, thankfully my older brother was there before me and introduced me to my future mentor Dr. Michael Luan.  He was the first person to give me the real solutions I had been searching for.  Dr. Luan showed me how my movement patterns were hurting my body and limiting my abilities, more importantly he told me how to change it.  He has been an invaluable mentor ever since.

Armed with some real answers and amazing insight I returned to the gym.  I began developing my body from the inside out, focusing on my core strength.  I was ecstatic to see balance and capability return to my body.  I thought I knew it all (I hope I never make this mistake again) and then I threw out my back.  I was crippled for some time as I watched my hard work wither away and my imbalances take over.  This was a humbling experience for me.  I realized I did not know it all and resolved from this point forward that I would be a life long learner.

Slowly but surely I took the steps to correct the mistakes I had made.  I focused on flexibility and more complex movements so my body could be fit and capable on all levels.  At this time my brother introduced me to some amazing research on human nutrition, which I eagerly applied with amazing results.  My asthma and allergies literally disappeared! Now my back, and my health are better than ever.  Building a functionally strong body and learning to eat the foods my body was designed to eat has improved every aspect of my life!

By the time I wrapped up my college career I had discovered my calling.  I realized as I was going through my struggles that almost everyone around me was going through some struggle with their health or their body, but they didn’t have the same vision or access to amazing teachers that I did.

Watching people waste their time, suffer through pointless workouts and unhealthy, unproductive diets makes me sad.  I believe that everyone has the potential to be strong, confident, and feel great about themselves everyday.  My mission is to share my passion, experience, and expertise with you in order to help you realize your incredible potential.

Committed to your health and wellness,

Andrew

Life is awesome!

Casey:

I grew up in the mountains and developed a deep love for the natural world at a young age.  A late bloomer from the start, I lived most of my middle school and high school years paralyzed by fear and worry. I was a bit chubby as a young teenager, and I didn’t have the muscles everyone else did, so I developed HORRIBLE posture in my attempt to hide from the world.

In high school I had decided that I wanted to lose weight, so I decided it would be a good idea to stop eating lunch and start playing copious amounts of basketball. Despite being horribly uncomfortable, tormented by stomach aches and headaches, I was determined to lose weight, so I stuck with it for months and lost 15 pounds. I was disappointed to find, however, that my self esteem didn’t skyrocket. Even being a varsity athlete couldn’t do anything to help my confidence! Life was hard, and it was about to get even harder.

I was taking all the advanced courses because that’s what the advisers told me to do, and between homework and sports I had no time for sleep (not that I would have rested anyways). I had stomach aches EVERY NIGHT after dinner (I was lactose intolerant and didn’t know it) and headaches almost DAILY. I thought this was just how life was.

By the time senior year rolled around I had TERRIBLE acne. My face looked like the surface of the moon. It was so bad I had to go on the most powerful acne medication on the market (lots of dermatologists don’t even offer it anymore), which dried out my skin and lips so badly that I looked like a burn victim. Needless to say, this buried any confidence I might have had with the ladies. I also had head aches every night and stomach aches almost daily. Things could only go up from here, right?

Unfortunately not. I went off to college still lacking any self confidence. I was letting life happen to me. My acne was still raging (I had to go on those powerful meds again) and I was still in pain during most of my waking hours. I had no confidence when it came to meeting all the new girls, despite having a body that got me noticed! I took all of this self-hating energy and poured it into the gym. I put on 20 pounds of muscle in 9 months. I always thought that if I just had bigger biceps and six pack, then I’d be confident in myself! (Yeah right!)

I reached a turning point when a friend convinced me to sign up for a nutrition class. It sparked my interest in a BIG way. Granted, most of what I learned was complete nonsense, but having even SOME knowledge made me feel like I had control. I then got into kickboxing and got into phenomenal shape FAST, but I’d still ache every night and wake up stiff as a board the next day. I still had headaches and stomach aches from eating the ridiculous low-fat diet that my professors said was good for me. I was really fit, but still I didn’t feel confident enough to take charge of my own life!

I hit rock bottom during my senior year in college. I was taking 22 units for 3 quarters straight. I was beaten, drifting through college so I could get my degree and then go home and do who knows what. This is where things turned around for me. We had a guest speaker come into our personal training class. He impressed me as knowledgeable, arrogant, and confident to the point of being a little brash. His name was Dr. Michael Luan, and despite my initially harsh judgments, I signed up for his class the following quarter. I had just found my mentor!

Where would we be without this awesome guy?! You rock Dr. Mike!

Dr. Luan pushed me out of my comfort zone in a BIG WAY. He challenged me, armed me with an amazing skill set, and inspired me to begin teaching and training. I graduated cum laude from UCSB with a degree in Biology and started training a short time afterward. I had finally found my passion!

My next breakthrough came shortly thereafter when I began reading the work of Weston A. Price. His studies of the Western Diet as the causal factor in nearly all chronic disease made me realize how important my diet was. I read voraciously and started cooking everything from scratch. I got so good in the kitchen that my friends and family all wanted me to cook when I came home!

Despite cleaning up my diet, I still struggled with what I thought was chronic inflammation in my knee and low back. Then Andrew introduced me to chiropractic, and I met an awesome chiropractor in Dr. Joseph Flowers. My first adjustment was like someone flipped a switch and turned on my inner light! I was able to move pain free for the first time in years!

The stars were now aligned in my life, and things were HAPPENING. I read an article about Erwan Le Corre, a natural movement enthusiast and instructor that was running jungle workouts down in Brazil. Andrew and I decided to try it out for ourselves. What an amazing experience! My knee and back pain vanished upon finishing the workout! Just getting out of the gym and into the wild turned on all the muscles that I’d learned to keep on stand-by. I felt amazing, and knew that I wanted to share the power and value of natural movement with the world.

Now I help people like you find true health and lasting wellness. My life has and continues to be my laboratory, and sharing my findings with you is what gets me excited to wake up every morning. I believe we are all designed to be healthy, happy, and free, and I’m still discovering what exactly that means and how far I can take it. I thrive off of the discipline, the rigor, and the pure joy that comes with living a life of purpose, and if I can in any way help you discover and pursue your purpose in life, I will do so.

Committed to your health and wellness,

Casey
